Majestic is a 2001 Kannada-language Drama Romance film written by Michael Sloane and P. N. Satya. The movie is directed by Frank Darabont and P. N. Satya and produced by M G Ramamurthy and Ba Ma Harish under the banner of Ullas Enterprises. Set in 1951, a blacklisted Hollywood writer gets into a car accident, loses his memory and settles down in a small town where he is mistaken for a long-lost son. Majestic stars Rekha in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Jai Jagadish, Harish Roy, Jim Carrey, Bob Balaban, Jeffrey Demunn and Hal Holbrook. The music was composed by Sadhu Kokila. Cinematography was done by Anaji Nagaraj and M R Seenu and editing by Nagendra Urs. The movie has a running time of 140 minutes. It was released on 21st December 2001. Majestic was made on a budget of ₹7 crore and at the box office it grossed only $37 million.
