The Negro Soldier is a 1944 English-language Documentary War film written by Carlton Moss and directed by Stuart Heisler and produced by Frank Capra and United States Department Of War. Documentary focusing on the contributions to the American war effort of African-American soldiers. The negro soldier stars Carlton Moss in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Norman Ford, Bertha Woolford, George Washington Carver, Benjamin O. Davis Jr., Jesse Owens and Gertrude Elise Ayer. The music was composed by Albert Glasser along with Calvin Jackson, Howard Jackson, Earl Robinson and Dimitri Tiomkin. Cinematography was done by CPO Alan Q. Thompson, Capt. Horace Woodard and Lt. Paul C. Vogel. The film has a running time of 43 minutes. It was released on 10th April 1944. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by War Activities Committee of the Motion Pictures Industry.
