The Remains of the Day is a 1993 English-language Drama Romance motion picture written by Kazuo Ishiguro and Ruth Prawer Jhabvala. The movie is directed by James Ivory and produced by Ismail Merchant, Mike Nichols and John Calley under the banner of Merchant Ivory Productions. A butler who sacrificed body and soul to service in the years leading up to World War II realizes too late how misguided his loyalty was to his lordly employer.
