The Running Man is a 1987 English-language Action Sci-Fi movie written by Stephen King and Steven E De Souza. The movie is directed by Paul Michael Glaser and produced by George Linder and Tim Zinnemann under the banner of Braveworld Productions in collaboration with Taft Entertainment and HBO Pictures. A wrongly convicted man must try to survive a public execution gauntlet staged as a game show. The running man stars Arnold Schwarzenegger in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Mar A Conchita Alonso, Yaphet Kotto, Richard Dawson, Maria Conchita Alonso, Jim Brown and Jesse Ventura. The screenplay is written by Steven E. de Souza which is inspired from The Running Man by Richard Bachman. The music was composed by Harold Faltermeyer.
