The Watch is a 2012 English-language Action Comedy movie written by Jared Stern, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The movie is directed by Akiva Schaffer and produced by Shawn Levy under the banner of 21 Laps Productions. Four men who form a neighborhood watch group as a way to get out of their day-to-day family routines find themselves defending the Earth from an alien invasion. The watch features Ben Stiller in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Vince Vaughn, Jonah Hill, Richard Ayoade, Rosemarie Dewitt, Will Forte and Mel Rodriguez. The music was composed by Christophe Beck. Cinematography was done by Barry Peterson and editing by Dean Zimmerman. The movie has a running time of 102 minutes. It was released on 23rd August 2012. The Watch was made on a budget of $68 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $68 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by 20th Century Fox.
