The wind rises stars Hideaki Anno, Miori Takimoto, Hidetoshi Nishijima, Masahiko Nishimura, Morio Kazama, Keiko Takeshita and Mat Brunet. The screenplay is written by Hayao Miyazaki which is inspired from by Hayao Miyazaki. The music was composed by Joe Hisaishi. Cinematography was done by Atsushi Okui and editing by Takeshi Seyama. The movie has a running time of 126 minutes. It was released on 20th March 2014. The Film was successful at box office. The Wind Rises was made on a budget of ₹3 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of $136 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Toho. Jiro dreams of flying and designing beautiful airplanes, inspired by the famous Italian aeronautical designer Caproni. Nearsighted from a young age and unable to be a pilot, Jiro joins a major Japanese engineering company in 1927 and becomes one of the world's most innovative and accomplished airplane designers. The film chronicles much of his life, depicting key historical events, including the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, the Great Depression, the tuberculosis epidemic and Japan's plunge into war.
