Thoongaa Vanam is a 2015 Tamil-language Action Thriller movie written by Kamal Haasan, Suka and Abburi Ravi. The movie is directed by Rajesh M. Selva and produced by Chandra Haasan, Kamal Haasan, Chandrahasan, Gokulam Gopalan, Suresh Balaje and George Piush under the banner of Raaj Kamal Films International in collaboration with Sri Gokulam Movies, Wide Angle Creations and RG Entertainment. A cop with a connection to the criminal underworld finds his secret life exposed when he and his partner are caught stealing cocaine from a powerful drug dealer, a move that puts his son's life in jeopardy. Thoongaa vanam features Kamal Haasan in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Prakash Raj, Sampath Raj, Yugi Sethu, Trisha Krishnan, Kishore Kumar G. and Asha Sarath. The screenplay is written by Kamal Haasan which is inspired from Nuit Blanche by Fr d ric Jardin. The music was composed by M Ghibran along with M. Ghibran. Cinematography was done by Sanu John Varghese and editing by Shan Mohammed. The film has a running time of 127 minutes. It was released on 10th November 2015 in Tamil and Telugu languages. The Film was successful at box office. Thoongaa Vanam was made on a budget of ₹18 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹46 crore. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Escape Artists Motion Pictures.
