Tideland is a 2005 English-language Drama Fantasy movie directed by Terry Gilliam and produced by Gabriella Martinelli and Jeremy Thomas under the banner of Recorded Picture Company in collaboration with Telefilm Canada, The Movie Network, Astral Media and HanWay Films. Pre-teen Jeliza-Rose's parents are hopeless drug addicts. When pa, rocker Noah, finds ma's OD'd, he fears to be charged with homicide and takes Jeliza along to his ma's place, in a desolate country region. With Noah dead in his chair, the girl mentally transfers to a fantasy world she and her doll heads enter magically. Jeliza's adventures also star the crazy locals, notably Dell, and Dell's grown but intellectually disabled brother Dickens. Written by KGF Vissers. Tideland stars Jodelle Ferland, Brendan Fletcher, Janet Mcteer, Jennifer Tilly, Jeff Bridges, Dylan Taylor and David Stefanyshyn. The screenplay is written by Tony Grisoni and Terry Gilliam which is inspired from Tideland by Mitch Cullin. The music was composed by Jeff Danna along with Mychael Danna. Cinematography was done by Nicola Pecorini and editing by Lesley Walker. The film has a running time of 120 minutes. It was released on 30th March 2006. Tideland was made on a budget of $19 million and at the box office it grossed only $0 million. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Revolver Entertainment.
