Vanaprastham is a 1999 Malayalam-language Drama Musical movie written by Pierre Assouline, Shaji N. Karun and Raghunath Paleri. The movie is directed by Shaji N. Karun and produced by Pierre Assouline and Mohanlal under the banner of Euro American Films in collaboration with Pranavam Arts and CLT-UFA International. A depressed Kathakali artist falls in love with a member of an aristocratic family. Vanaprastham features Suhasini Maniratnam in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Mohanlal Viswanathan, Mattanoor Shankara Marar, Kalamandalam Gopi, Venmani Haridas, Kukku Parameshwaram and Venmani Vishnu. The screenplay is written by Shaji N. Karun, Raghunath Paleri, Dialogues: and Raghunath Paleri. The music was composed by Zakir Hussain.
