Waris is a 1969 Hindi-language Comedy Drama film written by Rajendra Krishan and directed by Tr Ramanna and produced by Vasu Menon under the banner of Vasu Studios. Due to disagreements in the King's household, his wife and son decide to move away from his kingdom. Years later, the King passes away and the palace decides to locate the Prince, so that he can claim his rightful place on the throne. They locate three young men, all claiming to be the prince. The Palace officials put them to the test, and one by one, all of them pass various tests imposed on them, leaving the officials in a quandary, as to who the real prince is between these three young men. Waris features Hema Malini in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Prem Chopra, Aruna Irani, Jeetendra Kapoor, Mehmood Ali, Sudesh Kumar and David Abraham. The film is based on Naan. The music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman along with R. D. Burman. Cinematography was done by M. A. Rehman and editing by M. S. Money. The movie has a running time of 158 min. It was released on 30th June 1969.
