What Women Want is a 2000 English-language Comedy Fantasy movie written by Josh Goldsmith, Cathy Yuspa and Diane Drake. The movie is directed by Nancy Meyers and produced by Susan Cartsonis, Bruce Davey, Gina Matthews, Nancy Meyers and Matt Williams under the banner of Icon Entertainment in collaboration with Wind Dancer Films. After an accident, a chauvinistic executive gains the ability to hear what women are really thinking. What women want stars Mel Gibson, Helen Hunt, Marisa Tomei, Lauren Holly, Mark Feuerstein, Alan Alda and Nancy Wetzel. The music was composed by Alan Silvestri. Cinematography was done by Dean Cundey and editing by Thomas J. Nordberg, Stephen A. Rotter and Carol Littleton. The motion picture has a running time of 127 minutes. It was released on 24th January 2001. What Women Want was made on a budget of $70 million and at the box office it grossed only $11 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Paramount Pictures.
