Yeh Desh is a 1984 Hindi-language Action Drama motion picture written by Kamleshwar and directed by Rama Rao Tatineni and T. Rama Rao and produced by P Mallikharjuna Rao under the banner of Bharati International. Yeh desh features Kamal Haasan in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Zeenat Aman, Utpal Dutt, Jeetendra Kapoor, Shakti Kapoor, Amrish Puri and Master Bhagwan. The music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman along with R. D. Burman. Cinematography was done by V. Durgaprasad and editing by Swamy, and Balu. The motion picture has a running time of 151 minutes. It was released on 24th February 1984. Chandramohan Azad (Jeetendra) is an employee and a union leader. His zeal and hard-work is detested by some of his fellow-workers and his employer, Sinha (Pincho Kapoor). He is framed for the murder of a fellow union worker and sentenced to jail for several years. After his release, he finds out that his brother-in-law, Deshbandhu (Utpal Dutt) is an MLA, and his sister (ma Deo) is content with the way the things are. Chandramohan's right to assert what is truthful and right is frustrated at every attempt by a corrupt society and law enforcement officers.
