Zero is a 2018 Hindi-language Romantic drama film written by Himanshu Sharma and directed by Aanand L. Rai. It was produced by Gauri Khan and Aanand L. Rai under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Colour Yellow Productions. Zero is a love story between Bauua, a man of short stature and Aafia a scientist with cerebral palsy. The challenges their love faces form the basis of the story. Zero stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Sridevi Kapoor, Abhay Deol, Abdul Qadir Amin and Bill Billions. As a part of the preparation for her role, Anushka Sharma got the help of Occupational therapist and audiologist who taught her how to create involuntary spasm-like acting. The screenplay is written by Himanshu Sharma. The music was composed by Ajay-Atul. The cinematography was done by Vikas Sivaraman and editing by Hemal Kothari. The film has a running time of 164 minutes. It was released on 21st December 2018 and the Censor Board has categorized the movie under UA certification. Zero was made on a budget of ₹270 crore and at the box office, it grossed only ₹88 crore. This was Sharukh Khan’s highest budget film. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Yash Raj Films.
