Sardar-e-Awwal is a 1939 Hindi-language Comedy Musical show written by Rumi Jaffrey and directed by David Dhawan and produced by Vashu Bhagnani. Two young Indians, Meena and Rajesh, meet in Europe and fall in love with each other, promising to get married when they return back to India.. Sardar-e-awwal features Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Shakti Kapoor, Satish Shah, Kader Khan and Yusuf. The music was composed by Anand-milind. Cinematography was done by K.S. Prakash Rao and editing by A. Muthu. It was released on 21st February 1997. The Film was successful at box office. Sardar-e-Awwal was made on a budget of ₹6 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹31 crore. Distribution rights for the show were acquired by S. K. Enterprise Haslingden LTD.
