The Adventures of Robin Hood is a 1958 English-language Action Adventure series written by Ring Lardner Jr. and Ian Mclellan Hunter. The series is directed by Terry Bishop and produced by Sidney Cole under the banner of Sapphire Films. The adventures of robin hood stars Richard Greene, Bernadette O'farrell, Patricia Driscoll, Alexander Gauge, Archie Duncan, Alan Wheatley and Jack Melford. The series is based on traditional legends. The music was composed by Edwin Astley along with Albert Elms. Cinematography was done by Ken Hodges. The show has a running time of 25 minutes for each episode. The show has a total of 143 episodes during it's run of 4 seasons. Distribution rights for the series were acquired by Official Films. A long-running series of adventures featuring Robin of Loxley - Robin Hood - and his group of Sherwood-Forest-based freedom fighters. Robin and his men protected England from the evil machinations of Prince John while good King Richard was away at the Crusades.
