The Fosters is a 2013 English-language Drama Romance series developed by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige. The show was Produced by Christine A. Sacani, Paul Sciarrotta, David Hartle, Mark Benton Johnson, Megan Lynn and Wade Solomon under the banner of ProdCo Original in collaboration with Blazing Elm Entertainment, Nuyorican Productions and Freeform Original Productions. for Freeform. Stef Foster and Lena Adams, a lesbian couple, have a family of adopted, biological, and foster children. Mariana and Jesus are adopted 15-year-old twins and Brandon is Stef's 16-year-old biological son from a previous marriage. Everything is going fine in the house until Callie and Jude arrive. 16-year-old Callie and her 12-year-old brother Jude have been in many different foster homes, but when they are placed with the Fosters, things begin to happen. In this series, the Fosters will deal with many different issues: hook-ups, break-ups, romances, and important life lessons. The fosters stars Teri Polo in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Sherri Saum, Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell and Danny Nucci. The music was composed by Alec Puro along with Kari Kimmel. Cinematography was done by Lowell Peterson, Kees Van Oostrum and Checco Varese and editing by Kristin Windell, Sharon Silverman, Debra Weinstein, Michael Jablow and Meghan Robertson. The show has a running time of 42 minutes for each episode. The show has a total of 104 episodes during it's run of 5 seasons. It was released on 3rd June 2013 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Distribution rights for the series were acquired by Disney ABC Domestic Television.
