The Nanny is a 1993 English-language Comedy Family show created by Prudence Fraser, Robert Sternin, Fran Drescher and Peter Marc Jacobson. The Nanny was produced under the production house Sternin & Fraser Ink in collaboration with Highschool Sweethearts and TriStar Television. The show originally aired on CBS. After a Jewish, high-voiced, woman from Flushing gets fired from her job and dumped by her boyfriend, Fran is mistaken as applying for a nanny for a widowed man with three children when she is stuck selling cosmetics in Manhattan. As she spends years there, she becomes great friends with the butler, Niles, and the three kids. She is good friends with the widowed man, and some romance sparks through the years. The nanny stars Fran Drescher, Charles Shaughnessy, Daniel Davis, Lauren Lane, Nicholle Tom, Benjamin Salisbury and J.d. Daniels. The music was composed by Timothy Thompson along with Ann Hampton Callaway. The series has a running time of 22-24 minutes for each episode. The show has a total of 146 episodes during it's run of 6 seasons. Distribution rights for the series were acquired by Columbia TriStar Television.
