Etah (Urdu: , Hindi: ) is a town which is also the district headquarters of Etah district of Uttar Pradesh state, India. Etah is located at 2738N 7840E / 27.63N 78.67E / 27.63; 78.67. It has an average elevation of 170metres (557feet). Etah is nearest district of Aligarh, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Kashiram nagar. The primary occupation of the people of the district is Agriculture. The area is situated between Ganga and Yamuna (Doaab) which is highly fertile land (Alluvial soil). The farmers are taking even three crops in a year. The water for irrigation is available round the year. Etah is the developing city. It is the district headquarter since the English rule. NH 91 passes through Etah.
