About Farrukhabad

Farrukhbd (Hindi: , Urdu: ), is one of the important cities of Central Doab Region in the State of Uttar Pradesh in northern India. The city was founded in 1717 by Mohammed Bangash who named it after the Mughal emperor Farrukhsiyar. Farrukhabad is situated on the bank of sacred river Ganges. As of 2011 India census, Farrukhabad had a population of 300,000. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Farrukhabad has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 68%, and female literacy is 58%. In Farrukhabad-cum-Fatehgarh, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.Army School Fatehgarh Cantt.
