Gevrai is a tehsil in the Beed district of Maharashtra, India. Gevrai is located at 1910N 7527E / 19.16N 75.45E / 19.16; 75.45. It has an average elevation of 465metres (1528feet). It lies on National highways No 211 connecting Solapur - Osmanabad - Beed - Aurangabad - Dhule in Maharashtra. As of 2001 India census, Gevrai had a population of 28,492. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Gevrai has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 58%. In Gevrai, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. Gevrai is the Taluka place in Beed district.
