It lies on National highways No 211 connecting Solapur - Osmanabad - Beed - Aurangabad - Dhule in Maharashtra. As of 2001 India census, Gevrai had a population of 28,492. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Gevrai has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 58%. In Gevrai, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age. Gevrai is the Taluka place in Beed district.
