Veerapandi is a panchayat town in Coimbatore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
As of 2001 India census, Veerapandi had a population of 12,141. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Veerapandi has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 63%. In Veerapandi, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age. Well known for Mariamman temple and its Yearly Car festival during the tamil month of Vaikaasi no 4 veerapandi. Gobichettipalayam above sea level, surrounded by Western Ghats.
The town is a part of Gobichettipalayam constituency and elects its member of legislative assembly every five years, and a part of the Tirupur constituency that elects its member of parliament. The town is administered by a municipality established in 1949 and has a population of 60,279 as of 2011. It is known as "Mini Kollywood" because of the film shooting that takes place here and many films in Tamil and other languages have been shot here.
