Khambhalia is a town and a municipality in Devbhoomi Dwarka district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Khambhalia is the headquarters and largest town in Dwarka District. Khambhalia urban area (consisting of Khambhalia town proper and 4 villages: Ramnagar, Shaktinagar, Harshadpur and Dharampurhad) has a population of approx. 100,000. Khambhalia is the headquarters of the newly formed Dwarka District which was carved out of Jamanagar district on 15 August 2013. The population of Dwarka district was 738,520 according to the 2011 census, and the population density is 130 based on an area of 5,684 km. The district consists 4 talukas: Khambhalia, Kalyanpur, Dwarka and Bhanvad.
