Jamkhed is a census town in Ahmednagar district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated on the Ahmednagar-Beed State Highway, 78 kilometres from Ahmednagar. Jamkhed is located at 1843N 7519E / 18.72N 75.32E / 18.72; 75.32. It has an average elevation of 590metres (1935feet). As of 2001 India census, Jamkhed had a population of 27,691.
