Kapadvanj is a city and a municipality in Kheda district in the Indian state of Gujarat. The city has colleges of science, arts, commerce, BCA, PTC and pharmacy. Kapadvanj is located at 2301N 7304E / 23.02N 73.07E / 23.02; 73.07. It has an average elevation of 69metres . As of 2001 India census, Kapadvanj had a population of 43,921. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Kapadvanj has an average literacy rate of 73%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 67%. In Kapadvanj, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. When Gujarat separated from Mumbai, the government created 10 dist and 40 taluka, KAPADWANJ is one of them, Kapadvanj was once known for its famous houses lining its streets. The beautiful houses were decorated with wood carving and inlay work as shown in the picture. Many such houses are now in ruins.
