JamKhambhalia is a town and a municipality in Devbhoomi Dwarka district in the Indian state of Gujarat. JamKhambhalia is the headquarters and largest town in Dwarka District. Meraman Ahir is the current MLA of Khambhalia.Jam Shri Rawalji, head of Jadeja clan Rajput (Kshatriya) migrated from Kutch to BARADI, established himself & set his throne at Khambhalia in 1526 AD for some years it was his capital of BARADI till he founded his new capital & new city in 1540 AD named it as 'Nawanagar'.Khambhalia urban area (consisting of Khambhalia town proper and 4 villages: Ramnagar, Shaktinagar, Harshadpur and Dharampurhad) has a population of approx. 100,000.
JamKhambhalia is the headquarters of the newly formed Dwarka District which was carved out of Jamanagar district on 15 August 2013. The population of Dwarka district was 738,520 according to the 2011 census, and the population density is 130 based on an area of 5,684 km. The district consists 4 talukas: JamKhambhalia, JamKalyanpur, Dwarka and Bhanvad.
