Kinwat is a city and a municipal council in Nanded district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The Kinwat taluka came into existence in 1905 by combining villages from Narsapur and Nirmal talukas in Adilabad district then coming under the Hyderabad division. Kinwat is located at 1938N 7812E / 19.63N 78.2E / 19.63; 78.2. It has an average elevation of 314metres . The river Penganga flows aside the town. Nagzari dam is situated just few kilometers away from the town which is one of the important water source to residents nearby in the summer. Drinking water is fetched from the deep ground levels by new colonies which may be the cause for sunken water table.The Most popular residential area is SVM colony.The city has large scale farms on Kinwat-Mandwa-Nagzari road.
