About Kuttalam ( Kuthalam )

Kuttalam is a town in Tamil Nadu in India, 58 km by road from Trinelveli and is 6 km from Tenkasi.It is about 100 k.m from the capital of Kerala , Thiruvananthapuram. It is located nearby the Sri Kutralanathaswamy temple, an important shrine dedicated to lord Siva. Kuttalam is famous for the eight waterfalls in the area, which flow from June to September: Main Falls, Five Falls, Shenbhaga Falls, Tiger Falls, Old Kuttalam Falls, Honey Falls, Orchard Falls and Sitraruvi Falls. The water of these falls is believed to possess medicinal qualities of the herbal plants grown in the mountains.The area is twinned with the English town Basildon.
