Mollarpur ("") is a town with a rail station in Rampurhat subdivision of Birbhum district in the Indian state of West Bengal.Mollarpur consists of two Gram panchayats, Mollarpur I and Mollarpur II. It is a small but good town. Mollarpur have approved by government of west Bengal as a municipality at June 2014. The name Mollarpur had come from Malla kings. Probably they had related with the great Malla king Hambir malla(?). Now Mollarpur is having government schools as well as private schools. The Mallarpur High School is the known school in the Mollarpur. Mollarpur is also having one hospital & Police substation.NH 60 is passing through Mollarpur to suri via Ganpur, Deucha. Tarapith temple which contains an important Hindu temple and famous for the Great devotee 'Bamakhepa'. It is also recognised as 'Shaktipith' as per Hindu belief is very near to Molecular and transport is available at all the time. Birchandrapur, 25 km from the town, is famous for the birthplace of Nityananda Swami, co founder of Baisnav religion with Shri Chityanyadev. Birchandrapur[1] of Mahabharata, named after Birchandra Goswami - the son of Nityananda, Various languages are spoken by the people of the town. Bengali, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Santahali, Marwari, Gujarati are common language of Mollarpur. People of Mollarpur celebrate all festival with same zeal. The main festivals are Durga puja, Kalipuja, Chhath, etc. Chhathpuja is celebrated by Bihari community at Kali Tala in Bahina village and Eid is celebrated by Muslims at Mollarpur Muslim Para. Mollarpur is an important railway station, having connectivity to several places. Almost all of the local trains passing through Mollarpur, stop at the station and some express train also. One can reach Kolkata in around 3.5 hours. Naer about 20 villages are depending on the Mollarpur railway station. As PanagarhMorgram Highway passes through the town so by road communication is well developed along with the railway communication.
