Munirabad, which is also called as Huligi, is a village in the Koppal district in the Indian state of Karnataka.As of 2001 Indian census,[1] Munirabad had a population of 8,113. Males constituted 51% of the population and females 49%. Munirabad had an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy was 82%, and female literacy was 68%. In Munirabad, 12% of the population was under 6 years old. Munirabad is mostly an industrial area, albeit full of greenery and very peaceful. The Tungabhadra River with its huge dam is situated nearby. The Tungabhadra Dam is well known for its Park and Independence day celebrations. Munirabad comes besides National Highway 67 , on way to Hospet - Koppal, Munirabad has one Key Power generating station from KPTCL called Powerhouse.
