Narasaraopet or Narasaraopeta (Telugu: ) is a town in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, India. It had a population of 95,002 at the time of the 2001 Census. The name comes from Narasa Rao, a wealthy landlord who owned much of the surrounding areas. The town is also the headquarters of a mandal of the same name. Narasaraopet is the major commercial trading center after Vijayawada in costal Andhra Pradesh. This is the second largest city in Guntur District. Narasaraopet is built on flat land ringed by hills that are an offshoot of the Eastern Ghats. The summer months can get exceedingly hot while winters are mild.
