Narasimharajapura (Kannada: ) is a panchayat town in Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Narasimharajapura is located at 1337N 7531E / 13.62N 75.52E / 13.62; 75.52. It has an average elevation of 643metres (2109feet). Initially Narasimharajapura was so called as "Yedehalli".During the half of 19th century Mysore state's Narasimharaja wadiyar visited Yedehalli the town's name got changed as Narasimharajapura. Later on Narasimharajapura turned as N.R.PURA. As of 2001 India census, Narasimharajapura had a population of 7441. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Narasimharajapura has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 82%, and female literacy is 73%. In Narasimharajapura, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
