It is a town panchayat of Tirupur district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.It was recently merged with the newly formed Tirupur district, but it is still considered to be associated with the Coimbatore city by a lot of the localities. Palladam is located at 1059N 7718E / 10.98N 77.3E / 10.98; 77.3. It has an average elevation of 325metres (1066feet). Palladam is located 38Km east of the city of Coimbatore, Manchester of South India and near to Tirupur (14km away) which is called the 'Dollar City' of Tamil Nadu. Palladam is the gateway to Coimbatore from the eastern part of Tamil Nadu. Total area - 19.42 Sq.Km.
