Bishnupur (Bengali: ) is a town and a municipality in Bankura District in the state of West Bengal, India. It is famous for its terracotta temples and the balucheri sarees. Bishnupur was ruled under the Gupta period by local Hindu kings who paid tribute to Samudra Gupta.
