Rasra is a city and a municipal board in Ballia district in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Rasra is located at 2551N 8351E / 25.85N 83.85E / 25.85; 83.85. It has an average elevation of 55metres (180feet). the Famous Nath Baba Temple is situated here. As of 2001 India census, Rasra had a population of 29,263. Rasra is the ground of saints like SHRI NATH BABA and ROSHAN SHAH BABA and many more. Residents of Rasra worship the NATH BABA in their own unique way using 'Lathi' and it is known as 'lathi pooja' or 'rote pooja'. Rasra is also famous for "Ramlila play" which is story of Lord Rama (according to Shri Ramcharitra Manas) enacted over a period of fifteen days during "Kartik Navratra" which falls around month of October.It is dramatized in a big ground where permanent different stages like court of Ram representing Ayodhya, Court of Ravan representing Lanka and other structures have built.
