I'd like to think that they got the core aspects of this adaptation spot on. Instead of portraying Godzilla as some kind of fish seeking clumsy maniac, this movie is loosely a sequel to the 1954 Godzilla. Godzilla isn't an accidental villain. He's an anti-hero who will do whatever it takes to restore natural order.

I am very well reminded of the Jaws. Everything is minimal here. This minimalism works great magic and feels pretty intense enough. The ending may leave a few people disappointed but I think the original first japanese Godzilla movie was about Godzilla being a force of nature rather than accidentally created mutant lizard.

The title say's godzilla and in the long movie u get to see him only for some 25 minutes...5 seconds before the interval and 20 minutes in the end of the movie.All we see is nato in the whole movie.. there should have been more role of godzilla. OTHERWISE EVERYTHING IS GOOD ABOUT THE MOVIE EXCEPT THE POINT STATED ABOVE.
