Salboni is a village, with a police station, in Salboni CD Block, in Medinipur Sadar subdivision of Paschim Medinipur district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the location of a Reserve Bank of India currency printing press.During World War II Salboni was the site of an air base of the Royal Air Force, then named RAF Salbani.[1][2] Salboni is located at 22.6N 87.19E.[3] It has an average elevation of 25 metres . It is on NH 60. As per 2011 Census of India Salbani had a total population of 3,963 of which 1,973 .[4]
