About Sangamner

Sangamner (Marathi: ) is a city and a municipal council located in the Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra state in India. It is situated on the Pravara River and it is one of the most developed cities in the area. The city got its name because it is on the site of the confluence (sangam) of three rivers in the area: Pravara, Mhalungi, and Mahanuti. It is famous for its cloth market, educational facilities, sugar factory, agriculture, and tobacco products (Gaichhap)(hattichap). Sangamner is located at 1934N 7413E / 19.57N 74.22E / 19.57; 74.22 on the banks of the Pravara River. It has an average elevation of 549metres (1801feet). It is also the second-largest city by population in Ahmednagar District, after Ahmednagar City. Sangamner is the biggest settlement on National Highway-50 (NH-50) between Pune and Nashik.
