Theog (Hindi: ) is a town and a municipal committee in Shimla district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. As of 2010 India census, Theog had a population of 7714. Males constitute 57% of the population and females 43%. Theog has an average literacy rate of 80%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 77%. In Theog, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. Theog is located at 3107N 7721E / 31.12N 77.35E / 31.12; 77.35. It has an average elevation of 1965metres (6446feet). It is situated on National Highway NH22 (on the Hindustan-Tibet Road), a 32km away from Shimla, and is a town of five 'Ghats' (or ridges): Rahi Ghat, Deori Ghat, Prem Ghat, Janoghat,and Bagaghat.
