Tirora is a city and a municipal council in Gondiya district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. As of 2001 India census, Tirora had a population of 22,527. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Tirora has an average literacy rate of 75%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 67%. In Tirora, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age. The main business of the town is Rice Mill and Grain Trading. The railway station is 1km from the town, situated on the Mumbai-Howrah Main Railway Line. It is 30km from Tumsar and Gondia. Adani Power Maharashtra Limited (APML), a 85.89% subsidiary of Adani Power Limited is implementing 3300 MW Thermal Power Station in Tirora.
