Thriprayar is a place in Thrissur District in the state of Kerala, India, located in the middle of Guruvayur - Kodungallur - Ernakulam Highway (NH 17), bears a magnificent temple to Sri Rama which is associated with many interesting legends. The Triprayar temple was originally under the domain of the Zamorin rulers of Kerala. It later came under the possession of the Dutch, the Mysore sultans and the rulers of Cochin.Now it is one of the several temples governed by Cochin devaswom Board. Triprayar is centered around the Sri Rama temple. It is the only Rama temple which has a river adjacent to it. Triprayar is about 23km away from Guruvayoor Sri Krishna temple and 30km away from Irinjalakuda temple via Katoor, Edamuttam etc. Kodungallur is 24km away. The nearest railhead is Thrissur, 22km east of the temple. A beautiful beach is located at 3km off the temple. An archway is situated at the main entrance (west nada) of the temple. The archway is dedicated to Lord Sree Rama....
