Uchana is a city and a municipal committee in Jind district in the Indian state of Haryana. Uchana is located at 2928N 7610E / 29.47N 76.17E / 29.47; 76.17. It has an average elevation of 215metres (705feet). Govt.Sen,Sec. As of 2001 India census, Uchana had a population of 14,100. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%. Uchana has an average literacy rate of 58%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 67%, and female literacy is 48%. In Uchana, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age. Uchana municipal committee is part of Uchana Kalan Vidhan Sabha constituency. In 2009, Om Prakash Chautala was elected from this constituency as a candidate of the Indian National Lok Dal political party.
