Udgir (Marathi: ) is a city and a municipal council in Latur District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is famous for education and the Udgir Fort. The Name Udgir was derived from the saint Udagir Baba. As of the 2001 India census, Udgir had a population of 2,00,908. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Udgir has an average literacy rate of 71%, which is higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 78%, and female literacy is 63%.
