Utraula is a city and a municipal board in Balrampur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is approximately 45 kilometres from the border with Nepal and is 175km in south east of capital city Lucknow. The nearest railway station is Balrampur (Lopline Gonda to Gorakpur) 28km and For major trains Gonda 50km apart.The city is very close (72km) to the city of Ayodhya. The main occupation of Utraula residents is farming. Agricultural production includes wheat, paddy, different pulses, oilseeds and sugarcane. Mango and Guava orchards can also be found in abundance. However the population density is high and the productivity of land is not much high due to lack of technical agriculture.
