Kannukkul Nilavu is a 2000 Tamil-language Drama Mystery movie written by Am Fazil and Gokula Krishna. The movie is directed by Am Fazil and produced by Mohan Natarajan under the banner of Chinthamani Cine Arts. Gautham, a man with special needs, comes to Pondicherry. Hema, a carefree woman, befriends him and with the help of her father, who is a psychologist, unravels his horrific past life. Kannukkul nilavu stars Joseph Vijay, Shalini Kumar, Kaveri Muralidharan, Raghuvaran, Srividya Krishnamurthy, Charlie and Shajin. The screenplay is written by Fazil. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja. Cinematography was done by Ananda Kuttan and editing by T. R. Sekar. The film has a running time of 170 minutes. It was released on 14th January 2000. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Ayngaran International.
