Aa Rathri is a 1983 Malayalam-language Drama Family movie written by Kaloor Dennis and Joy Thomas Shakthikulangara. The movie is directed by Joshiy and produced by Joy Thomas Shakthikulangara and Joy Thomas under the banner of Jubilee Productions. Indu leads a happy married life with her husband Ravi. However, her happiness is short lived when she learns that her husband is a criminal. Aa rathri features Mammootty, Poornima Jayaram, M. G. Soman, Lalu Alex, M.g. Soman, Rohini and Kothuku Nanappan. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja. Editing was done by K. Sankunni. It was released on 23rd April 1983. The Film was successful at box office. Aa Rathri was made on a budget of ₹40 lakh and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹1 crore. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Jubilee Productions.
