Akasa Kusum is a 2008 Sinhala-language Drama movie written and directed by Prasanna Vithanage and produced by H.d. Premasiri, Prasanna Vithanage and A. Sreekar Prasad under the banner of Prasad Color Lab in collaboration with Chennai. Faded film star Sandhya Rani unexpectedly s her profile rise again when she is embroiled controversy. As a media-crazy nation draws her into its net, she is confronted with a changed, compromised industry - commercialized, media savvy and value-less. As she faces her new found frame, Sandhya comes to confront her darkest demons - and also herself. Written by Prasanna Vithanage. Akasa kusum stars Malini Fonseka, Nimmi Harasgama, Dilhani Ekanayake, Dayadewa Edirisinghe, Kaushalaya Fernando, Samanalee Fonseka and Kumara Thirimadura. The music was composed by Lakshman Joseph De Saram. Cinematography was done by M.D Mahindapala and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad. The motion picture has a running time of 90 minutes.
