Garam Coat is a 1955 Hindi-language Drama motion picture written by Rajinder Singh Bedi and directed by Amar Kumar and produced by Rajinder Singh Bedi. Girdharilal lives a poor lifestyle in Delhi along with his wife, Geeta, and two daughters and a son.. Garam coat stars Balraj Sahni in the title role along with Nirupa Roy, Brahm Bhardwaj, Chand, Jayant Khan, Rashid Khan, Baij Sharma and Vijayalaxmi in supporting roles. The screenplay is written by Rajinder Singh Bedi which is inspired from The Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol. The music was composed by Pandit Amarnath along with Majrooh Sultanpuri. Cinematography was done by Vaikunth Kunkalekar and editing by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The film has a running time of 129 minutes. It was released on 1st January 1955.
