The crew members of NASA's Apollo missions tell their story in their own words. In the shadow of the moon stars Buzz Aldrin in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Neil Armstrong, Stephen Armstrong, Viola Armstrong, Alan Bean, Eugene Cernan and Michael Collins. The music was composed by Philip Sheppard. Cinematography was done by Clive North and editing by David Fairhead. The movie has a running time of 100 minutes. It was released on 2nd November 2007 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The film made a box office gross of $2 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Vertigo Films. At the 2007 Sundance Film Festival It won an award for World Cinema - Documentary.
