Kaminey is a 2009 Hindi-language Action Comedy film written by Cajetan Boy, Supratik Sen, Abhishek Chaubey, Sabrina Dhawan and Vishal Bhardwaj. The movie is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures. Set against the backdrop of the Mumbai underworld, Kaminey follows a rivalry between a pair of twins, one with a lisp and the other with a stutter, over the course of a single day. Kaminey features Shahid Kapoor in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Priyanka Chopra, Amole Gupte, Deb Mukherjee, Shivkumar Subramaniam, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Tenzing Nima. The music was composed by National Award winner Vishal Bhardwaj. Cinematography was done by Tassaduq Hussain and editing by Meghna Manchanda Sen and A. Sreekar Prasad. The film has a running time of 134 minutes. It was released on 14th August 2009 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Kaminey was made on a budget of ₹40 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹41 crore. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by UTV Motion Pictures. At the 2010 IIFA Awards It won an award for Best Action. At the 2010 Filmfare Awards It also won an award for Best Special Effects. At the 2010 National Film Awards It also won 2 awards including: Best Audiography (Location Sound Recordist) and Best Audiography.
